Julia Harte Widdowson is a founding Board Member of African Environmental Film Foundation who is passionate about environmental and wildlife conservation. She first traveled to Kenya in her 20s, which began her long-term friendship with Simon Trevor.

She primarily spends her time at her farm in Millbrook, New York where she raises grass-finished Devon cows. She and her husband, Nigel, were the proprietors for many years of the Red Devon Market Bar and Restaurant, Dutchess County’s first green restaurant serving fresh, local, organic food including grass-fed beef.

Harte Widdowson also serves on the boards of Scenic Hudson and The Harte Research Institute for Gulf of Mexico Studies which is the only marine research institute dedicated solely to advancing the long-term sustainable use and conservation of the world’s ninth-largest body of water.
