Patty Behringer

Patty Behringer has had a long and successful career as a California-based Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and has been a dedicated supporter of AEFF for over a decade. Since 2015, she has donated her professional bookkeeping expertise to the organization, working closely with its Kenya-based financial staff.

Patty is an avid adventurer and athlete. An accomplished runner, hiker, and mountaineer, she has completed two full marathons and twenty-five half marathons. Her climbing achievements include summiting Mount Elbrus - the highest peak in Europe - as well as Mount Rainier, Mount Whitney, and twenty of Colorado's famed 14,000-foot peaks. An enthusiastic world traveler, Patty was especially delighted to visit AEFF in Kenya. She also enjoyed experiencing Kenya's remarkable people, extraordinary wildlife, and breathtaking landscapes while exploring Nairobi, the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, the Giraffe Centre, Amboseli National Park, Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, Loisaba Conservancy, and the Maasai Mara.

Throughout her career in the private sector, Patty served as a corporate accountant, including at Amgen, a global biopharmaceutical company with annual revenues of approximately $35 billion. Patty focused on international inventory, project and property accounting, and hedge accounting. She has also contributed her time to Habitat for Humanity and her expertise supporting science education and community-based nonprofit organizations where she lives in Thousand Oaks, California.
